Don Mega's Explanation
"The King Pain title track has depth beyond the usual hip hop sound. The goal was not to receive commercial recognition. It was originally created as a tribute to Akron's own Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. After hearing the premix, we all decided that we could improve the impact by re-writing and re-recording the song. We recruited MaXxx to ignite the fire. The character of King Pain is a hybrid of M3 personalities balanced with discipline & direction. After my brother Mike Mosley (Ohio) returned to the living in 1996, his mind mutated and spawned into MaD MaXxx due to the coprruption & pain exsisting in his new life. The pain never changed. The trauma developed a new leader. A champion's tragedy became an army of musical soldiers led buy the conquerer of the rhythm nation. Our character King Pain overcame all obstacles to form the unit that dominates international music production. My lil bro is now one of the most prolific lyricists and producers to ever live & pursue the dream."
"Yea that's ya boy. I am King Pain. No one on this planet has a story or life like mine. When the track begins, you hear a missle connecting and exploding on Earth. It is the first offensive attack on the album. Even though the track has this freestyle feel, every word is a hollow point with a direct aim. We took the chorus and re-wrote it to fit the club scene, and all basketball references were replaced with swagger. This song shows you who King Pain is and the damage his mortal soul can create. The beat is like this techno rap rage that no one can pin point or immitate. The intention was originality. The album outcome was hip hop casualties. Any MC's impact was smothered & brought to justice. Compare me to Batman. All the rap enemies are like the Joker, Ridler, Penguin, Cat Woman, & Scarecrow. Yup, they can not win."
