MaD MaXxx's Explanation
"This song was originally caled "Street Life". I made the beat for my peeps out in California called Spiritual Thugs Pocahontas and Young Bo. I did two verses and they did the chorus and one verse each. After chosing this beat to appear on this album, Nujam and I wrote a new chorus and I added third verse. We spliced the mix featuring MaXxx only. The other artists were removed to cut down on dealing with copyight royalties and contract release issues. So really, the only artists that appear on the album are either totally independent of a label or they are building informally with M3. The title "Street Wise" was introduced by Nujam due to the verses. He felt they described a street savy individual with a good sense of how to survive in this crazy world. The beat is simple. Very dramatic but calm. It has a spicy sound from the smooth but flavorful eletronic spices used. The drums are very powerful for those who like a clean strong baseline. This is one of my favorite songs mainly because the subject matter is my regular every day life."
