Music:
Dude, I'm not sure what this is. it's like experimential, dissonant, textural, and very tripped out. Honestly, a lot of it works, but some of it seems like you got a couple midi files mixed up, transposed keys, and hit play. Then again, that works sometimes. Very strange, yet hip. 7 out of 10
Lyrics:
Unfortunately, you didn't provide them for our review, but from what I can hear, they're very hip. I could sit down and try to extract them word for word, but I don't have that kind of time. I'll just say that I dig your trip. 8 out of 10
Arrangement & Production:
Again, I don't know what it is. But, what I hear is smackin'. Either you stumbled upon it, or you planned it, I can't tell. At any rate, the groove is phatt, rollin', and highly creative. Sonically, the mix is together, and it appears to have mastered well. 8 out of 10
Lead Vocal:
The flow is a tight, complicated weave of words intermingled with a serious attitude. 90% of what say is believable, geniune, and true in nature. It's just that I can't understand the other 10%! For the most part I am moved by the vibe, and that's what matters. 9 out of 10
Musicianship:
Arpeggiated counter melodies from? Where? Those are out man. Very classical sounding. Hmmmm. Hopefully those were written by you or whomever you composed the peice with. However, I'm not sure there is anything illegal about extracting random midi files and pasting them into your tunes. Just like sampling I guess. If it was tension you intended to build by using these parts, you've succeeded tremendously. Great job. 8 out of 10
Originality:
George Clinton tripped over a Prince string part while on the way to a meeting with Tu Pac, Devo and the Tubes. But, it's definitely your own thing cuz. Clearly, there are East and West coast elements in your sound and vocal style, yet you've created your own thing here. C'mon with it. Bring it on. 10 out of 10
Marketability:
There may be a bit less of a market for someting as abstract as this, but you will certainly find an audience in both the public and private sectors of the music industry, and public at large. Make an effort to stick to your guns when you're prompted by industry execs to commercialize your sound. No compromise! 9 out of 10
**General Comments?**:
With a track this hittin' and ground breaking, you have every chance break out from the norm, and start setting standards for the rest to follow. It's almost like the free jazz movement, no one thought it would catch on until it hit it big. But when it did, there was a select crowd who bought it. So what, stay underground if you have to. There's nothing wrong with that. Out. Average Score 8.429 out of 10
